When i got to the end of the line
I took one last look behind
Not just to check how far i ran
But to see if there was any human
Lurking amidst the large crowd
Screaming my name out loud
Then i saw some faces slightly
Said some words to myself gently
“They weren’t there for me”
At least not to see me win
I did this on my own
How very naive was i
To think i crossed a hurdle that high
With nobody on my side
You think you don’t need anyone
Love, we all need someone
How grateful have you been
To those souls who picked a stone
So you didn’t have to injure your toe
The ones who said you were the best
An opinion different from the rest
Those who got your back
Even behind your back
I crossed that line for you
Thank you
